Soon after foster #1 went to her furever home, along comes foster #2...a Pom-Chi blend named Turk. He came to me very skittish and I have been working with him to build confidence. Well, it looks like it is time for him to go to a furever home as there is a lady who is anxiously awaiting his company. This little boy is such a luv bug I will miss his sweet face. He lets me kiss on him like an aunt kisses a cute little kid except he doesn't squirm or try to get away....he actually eats up the attention. I have to say that Chihuahuas get a bad rap because this little guy doesn't bark, doesn't pester me, is housebroken (not so much the first week but is now), and loves to cuddle more than any other dog I have known before...even my Cavalier. The beautiful thing of fostering is getting to know different breeds one on one. Of course, I fall in love with every one of them.
I had a foster that I almost kept, but she and one of my permanent dogs just didn't quite "work." I still miss her a year later, but about 3 months after she was adopted, I saw her in a car with her new family her eyes said it all, she was HAPPY!
I still miss her on occasion, but I don't worry about her, she is in a great home. I hope you have the same experience!
