I've never seen a dog do this. But cats of course often creeping up to a playmate like this.

Davey-Long-Legs would do this occasionally with a dog he was playing with at the dog park.... back when we still went to the dog park....

and I have seen Roxie do this to Chico in the back yard..... It is SOOOOO hard not to chuckle at them......

All of my Dobermans have done that. My current female does it in the back yard stalking fence lizards. She never catches any

I LOVE watching dogs do this (cats and kittens are just as fun)!!! The whole stalk and I'm going to get you (even if you see me...) thing is soooo funny!

I've watched my pocket beagle do that but not with the other dog. She'll go up in the woods away from the house and sit like a statue for an hour even. When she sees something get close enough like chimpmunk or squirrel she'll try and sneak up on it, she doesn't just run after anything she sees. She stalks them, looks just like a cat. Haven't see her catch anything but she has brought a few mice home as presents.
