I am sure most of you do not remember when I posted about a yr and 1/2 ago about getting our little dog, who is blind in one eye from our animal shelter. Anyway Just as update: she is learning more and more to get along with other dogs and she loves our male Shih Tzu. She was supposed to be part S.T. but we haven't figured out what part yet.

Anyway: the night before last we were watching TV when we heard the operator say: please hang up: if you have an emergency call 911. Not having a clue what was going on, we started looking around and sure enough Carmel was sleeping on the portable phone and had turned it on. That isn't the end of our story: yesterday we came home from visiting our daughter and noticed the TV was on, but muted. You guessed it: Carmel was standing on the remote control.

Of course her favorite trick is to run around the bed whining cause she wants us to lift her up, she is too tiny to jump up on our pillow mattress. The worst part of this: she really isn't. If I have food like handful of nuts to eat as I am going to bed, who is the first one on the bed: before I even sit down, she jumps up,.

I am sure others have stories about their funny animals. They keep us smiling and we love them so much.

She is also a scavenger. I am surprised she isn't grossly overweight, she follows up everywhere in hopes we will drop anything what so ever.

I don't think she is so funny right now. Last evening she killed a baby bird. I was watering our hanging plant and didn't realize there was a bird nest there; well there was, apparently the baby or babies were about to fly the coop as the saying goes and one took off. He didn't get any further than to a bush by our front porch and Carmel caught him. She came out of the bush, actually pointing with him in her mouth. I have never seen a 10 lb mixed, God only knows what king of dog, point. Just another mystery with this dog. Of course we told her to drop birdy and she did, but it was too late. We are beginning to think she might be a lab in a small curly haired terrier costume.

She sounds like a nice little dog...active, with a great personality...just what I like in a dog. My five were all gathered around a dead baby bird lying in the grass the other day but none of them had touched it, much less killed it. Ack!
