A few months ago when I dashed up to the post office I happened to see a car with a sign on the side that said something about EPI and had paw prints so I figured it had to do with dogs. A woman came out of the po and I started talking with her about a condition called EPI that I had never heard of and she gave me some brochures about it. They got dropped in the center console of my Suburban and I forgot about them until a few weeks ago and I passed them on to my humane society.

It turns out that one of our members has a dog with the condition. She'd taken to dog to three different vets and no one could figure out what was wrong with her poor girl. Once she had the brochure she went back to one of the vets with it, they ran some tests and that is what her dog has. JF had been afraid that she was going to lose her 3 year old German Shepherd and now she is so happy to have a diagnosis and treatment and she sent me an email to say thanks.

I'm so happy that I happened to run in to the woman and just had to know what the sign and paw prints on her vehicle were all about. I shouild add that the woman does not live in Floyd or even in VA so what wonderful thing that she was visiting someone local.

Here's a link to the website about it and it does have a couple of pictures of dogs that look like they've been starved for ages and then some "after" pics of the same dogs looking good.

Overview - EPI * Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency

How tragic (this condition). I've never heard of this before. The stars aligned for you and this woman to be in the right place at the right time.

My friend has a GSD with EPI. It's a shame vets do not know/think of it. What a blessing you saw that
vehicle and asked the lady about it.
