Has any bought any dog meds for their dogs from Canada?

Saw I could buy Metacam much at lower price doing this.My old girl needs two bottles/ $40/a bottle/ of this a month plus her monthly injections.
Two other dogs on meds too.

So if this could be trusted would buy from Canada but don't want to short change my old girl.
btw/Metacam is sold under the name as Petcam in Canada as the generic.

Is this an honest ad?

There is no way to discuss this without it disintegrating into a heated cursing session. There are many ways to determine the quality of you medications however because so many people don’t understand and many of them want to believe they are acting properly, anything said to diminish their "reality" is like telling them they are bad pet owners. Many people do not want to hear the truth about buying pet medications from various sources; they want to go on believing everything is fine. So, research various authoritative articles on the problems with pet meds in and outside the US and I’m sure you can come to the right decision.

Yes I suppose I would bee taking a risk. So a No to that.

Looked at Dr Foster and if I I buy a large bottle that costs $187/ I will cut my cost by 50%

When you buy pet meds in the USA, what is it that makes you trust the source of that purchase? Just apply the same practice to buying in Canada.

The issue revolves around how people apply protective standards for their pets, yet for the sake of saving a few dollars, throw it all away. And, when they are confronted with possibilites of hazards to their pets, they pretent they don't exist or refuse to accept it.

All you have to do is excercise the same level of common sense you would use when buying your own medications.
(If you use a legally Canadian licensed pharmacy for your pet meds, you should be good)

Check with Costco as some of their stores pharmacies do carry many pet meds and when I looked on line at the pricing it has Metacam 0.5mg/ml suspension, 15 ml $22.38 and 30ml $44.86 . When I was dealing with Dash and his cancer I learned that Costco had some of the meds he was on and it was much cheaper . With Phoenix this is where I got her Metacam when she was put on it and also the cat I had that needed insulin. Saved me a lot of money over buying these from the vets office.

Costco is great suggestion to check, I have used them for my Mastiffs heart medications for 5.5 years. They savings have been excellent.

Another option if no Costco local is Walgreens, if you buy their prescription savings club card you also can get a very good discount on medications.

Of course this is assuming the above stores carry the medication the animal needs. In my dogs case every medication he is on is a human drug so I can get them literally anywhere....

Thanks so much for the input.

I can't imagine how people who are on a very limited income cope when their dogs need intensive Vet care. Sad!

I am just trying to save a few dollars where I can.Yet feel if I took on these dogs it is my responsibility to care for them.

For many years I've bought some of my own prescriptions from Canadian pharmacies. I've never had any reason the think they were bogus. Clark Howard used to have a list of Canadian pharmacies on his webpage. I don't know if he still does.

Some of my dog park friends are buying prescription pet medication from overseas pharmacies without any prescriptions. Till now they told me 3 different websites, one of them is Canadian. I trust my fellow dog park friends but I will do my own research and order a small duration supplies for a start.
