I always try to have my morning long walk complete before about 7 AM because the temperature rises pretty quickly once the sun is up here.

If I start late, I generally hose down the dogs before we start the walk, and that seems to do a good job of keeping them cool. After three years they have figured it out, when we start late, the hose comes out, and they just stand there and let me hose them...
