They really are the sweetest little dogs. I have never been a person who wanted a lap dog but I sure am glad I got Reese.

My daughter has the most adorable chiwinnie. This dog is perfect in everyway....doesn't bark unless there is a reason, eats little, poops little, has a darling personality, is a perfect size, has the best of both breeds, loveable, loyal, obedient, easy.....and one ear flops down...darndest thing...seems to be a trait. We live in MEXICO and we want one of these dogs. Daughter was just here for a visit and I tried stealing the dog from her but did not succeed so now we have to find one of our own. Problem is finding one here in Mexico. Any of your subscriber/dog lovers live in Mx?

How old is your daughters dog? I'm surprised about the barking, both breeds can be pretty yappy.

She is about 4 now........she was adopted 1 1/2 yrs ago.......she has not been yapping since she got her. Even when our neighbor's dog who yaps constantly barks, my g-dog didn't bark. She only barked when something unusual was happening......I like that...then we know something is amiss.

They are so cool, aren't they! We got ours from the SPCA almost 3 months ago. He is 2 years old and sounds so much like your daughter's. He has the flop ear too! He has the most friendly, easy going attitude. He fit right in with our two bigger dogs and our cat. He also rarely barks! We are all very glad we got him!!

Sounds like we have a match. HA! We really want one but we will probably have to make a trip to the states to get one. We see lots of chihuahua's here and no dachsunds......so the chance of finding one here is next to nil.

They are the sweetest dogs. Mine barks only when strangers are around when the kids are outside. He is really protective of my three little ones. I have also noticed if i really don't like someone he picks up on that and doesn't want them around us. All and all reese is the best dog. He is my fourth child.

Not sure what part of MX you're in, so I did a mid-range area and went with San Antonio. Found one right away, flipped ear and all:

Adopt a Chihuahua: Chipper: Petfinder

If you can shoot over the boarder to adopt on, you shouldn't have any problems locating on. And keep in mind if you find a rescue, most will set up a transport to you.

Also, the no barking thing - that's totally a trainable trait.

Another in San Antonio
