Got "oficially" informed today that all BSL has been dropped from the current dog ordinance I have been fighting hard (solely pretty much) since last March! Although I have not seen the new proposed ordinance I have been told that all crap about "dangerous breeds" is not in the said ordinance. Couldnt be happier as it was a long fight, but common sence won the long run. I hope my threads can inspire somebody else fighting BSL. Remember, the "itll never happen to my dog", not matter what breed is no excuse for not fighting BSL even if your dog isnt on it. Ignorance is rapant in Gov where laws are made, so your dog is next if they ban "pitbulls" and other such dangerous breeds. I will gladly help people with advice and whatnot if they need it to fight BSL.
Common sence 1 vs Dumb law 0!

Awesome Brian! You did good!

What a relief it must be for you and the other dog owners (the ones who DO care! ) in your community.

It's a huge step in the right direction, sounds like you have some reasonable politicians in Clayton.

Have fun celebrating!

yeah it sure seems that way. It was really one Councilmember pushing it, and another was a swing vote and the Mayor was for it too I think. I did have very vocal support from one Councilman too. Was touch and go for a while!

Congratulations, and nice going, BrianH! It just shows how important it is to speak out.
People often think what can they do, they're only one person, they feel powerless. But, you have shown that we are NOT powerless, and that one by one, everywhere, we must speak out against this kind of legislation, and we can do it effectively. We CAN make a difference. You did!
