After buying a car or other vehicle, have you been more hesitant to have your dog ride with you places? Fear that the interior may get dirtier, leather seats may get scratched, etc.

I buy cars that my dog can sit in. He goes almost everywhere with me.
So I always get a leather interior, easier to clean, and my dog is a Great pyr, so heavy too. Without the leather, I'm sure he'd tear up the interior with those claws.

Nope. I buy my cars with leather seats so the dogs can get in the car. The leather gets dirty, but it wipes off, unlike cloth seats, which can stain.

I agree with dogs leather seat are so much better as mentioned in the previous posts and dog hair does not get imbedded as it does in fabric seats. I currently have a 2000 Subaru outback and prefer such cars so the dogs can ride back in the cargo space,Every now and they they do get to sit in the back seat if I have something else in the cargo space but even they prefer being in the cargo space as I have a comfy large Costco dog bed back there. They can ride in my car wet or muddy it does not matter it cleans easy.

I have a hammock style, waterproof seat cover in the back. So no problem with the leather seats. Since they go camping with me most of the year, the cover does get washed about every month. But a minor problem since I prefer to travel with them!

My dog has always gone everywhere with me.

Although his tolerance for staying inside my Wrangler is limited to about 20 minutes when I go into a store.

I've had to replace vinyl/plastic windows on the soft top a total of 11 times already since he will start chewing around the area near the zipper, get a small part torn, then start shredding his way out.

I walked out of a Target store once and he had made a break for it out of an opening he made but was only able to squeeze out about half way and was stuck hanging and looking around for me.
