Does anyone in US have sarplaninac puppies or know some dog breeders?

Wow, that's a new one on me, so I looked them up. Beautiful dog! I take it you have a flock for them to guard?

No, actually, they are used in my home country ( Serbia ) for that mainly. I am here in the USA now, where I live with my husband, and I really do like sarplaninac characteristics so that's why I would love to have them. They are such a wonderful dogs, so responsible and lovable. The only "bad thing" about them is that they are so attached to their family, that they won't even like your neighbors too much so maybe they'll bark at them ( at least that's how the dogs that I knew were ). But I am having a hard time here ( in the USA ) finding a breeder. I'll see if I can post some pictures about them because many people didn't hear about them...

I did a search on them too and they are handsome dogs

You describe their character quite like the Great Pyrenees is, have you given them any thought?

Default Sarplanina

I have a Sarplaninac that will be 2yrs on Dec 12th. He is the 1st generation here in the US brought for the mountains of Macedonia (Sar planina). They are excellent dogs; he is very loving with family and the young children, although very suspicious of strangers. I was recently contacted by another Sarplaninac lover that had 2, one female 2yrs and a male that passed at 13yrs. He's female comes from a long line of Champions and mine comes from a farming family that has had the same family dog line since the early 1900s. The dogs guard the family's farm of 3500 acres. We have both been debating of breeding them, each one of us wants another dog, but are afraid of giving up the others to someone that may mix the breed. If you are truly interested feel free to contact me.

You might want to check on some of the molosser forums. There would be people there likely able to help you and maybe some owners too.

tell me characteristics. I know I could look them up but I'd hear directly from a owner.
They almost look like they have golden in them
