I recently got this cute 8-week old dog from a local farmer. He said she is "mostly schipperke" but she looks to have some other sort of small dog breed to her, as well. Any thoughts? She weighed a little over 3 pounds at her 8-week birthday
She's cute, but at that age it's really hard to tell what other breeds she may have. Too many changes to her coat and features could still happen as she ages.
What other dogs did the farmer have? That would be an indication of what breeds she could have.
I used to handle Schipperkes in dog shows, I do see some resemblance in your dog. The ears are from a different breed though. Just a wild guess, but it looks like maybe some Sheltie to me.
Either way, that is a very cute puppy. Schipperkes are little devils, a lot of fun but they can be tough to live with sometimes.

Yes, they do have an independent streak, but they are also very amusing and fearless.
I've had 3 Schipperkes. They were all different. Two of my dogs were from rescue organizations. Seniorita Pupita was a female and very dainty. She always crossed her front paws when she lay down and would always walk around puddles. Sir Nuttus was all male. He would search out puddles to wade in. When he wanted to go to sleep for the night he would go to his dog bed in our bedroom and lay down. If we didn't get the hint and come to bed within a few minutes he would come back out to the living room and stamp his feet and point to the bedroom. They are both gone now but will never be forgotten.
My third dog I just got last night. It's a male. His name is Buddy. He is from a non-profit no kill shelter. He is just learning our schedule, but he is already starting to show some traits. When I show him his leash he runs in a tight circle to show his excitement at going out. The same is true when my wife opens the pantry where his food is kept. He was surrendered to the shelter by a young man who was joining the military and who had him since he was 8 weeks old.
I've had schipperker puppies before and I don't see any schip. Ears are wrong, coat is wrong, facial structure is wrong for a schip that age. The little guy looks part Belgian sheepdog, but too small.
It's a darling puppy, though. Get us some photos about 6 months and then it should be easier to guess.
I suggest you have a vet look at those eye rims and maybe take a skin srcaping.
I don't see any Pom of Schip. Maybe a terrier mix, as others have said to early to really tell.
I agree it needs to go to the vet to have it's eyes checked.
Cute pup though!
