I don't know if this has ever been posted here before (couldn't find it in a search) but I came across this video from 2011 on YouTube. A man was giving a dog training session at a park when one of the participant's dogs had a seizure, and then stopped breathing. The trainer stepped in and took action, performing CPR and saving the dog's life. (He admitted in an interview that he didn't really know how to properly perform CPR on animals, but it worked.)
If this was my dog I would be forever indebted to that man.
(P.S. Some might find it a bit distressing to watch.)
My roommate recently did the doggie Heimlich maneuver on my dog after he was hacking and choking after dinner. Worked like a charm, and probably saved me a trip to the vet, even though his air passage wasn't blocked.
