You could almost boil that down to two things:

Giving them attention
Giving them treats

My Boston Terrier would be with me 24/7 if it was possible. He loves to run and play and when that's over, he gets his biscuits and sits at my side. It would be nice if our lives were that simple and that's all it took to keep us happy.

What makes a happy dog is easy (and I don't need a fake online trainer with an awful accent to tell me this):
A stable home with knowledgeable owners who provide nourishing food, socialization, progressive consistent gentle training, and a varied exercise plan that engages the dog's mind and body.
