Flying is a GREAT way to move your dog.

Make sure you pick a non-stop flight.

If it's during the summer and it's hot, consider a red-eye or other flight that lands in the cool of the morning.

Let the dog gets used to the crate before flying. Let him sleep in it.

If you need to calm him down, use Valium. It's generally safe. Do not use Ace Promazine.

I highly recommend American Airlines. I'm not too thrilled with Delta.

Airlines have specific rules for size of crates, markings, paperwork attached, etc. I'd ask my chosen airline what it's regulations are.
