7 days ago we purchased a Shih-Poo puppy from a breeder. They said she was 8 weeks, but she is just now getting some of her teeth in making me think that she might have been younger than they said. Anyways, she was super happy and loving the first two or three days after we got her. She played with our other dogs and was super playful and hyper. She did the normal puppy thing and whined terribly at night. Then, after the third day she stopped eating anything, but is still drinking pretty well. She is pooping all the time and it's pretty smelly. She has been acting super sad and hasn't played, licked us (when we got her she licked our face any time we held her), and just lays around all day. I purchased some wet food today and she wouldn't touch it. Could it just be that she misses her dog family or could it be that she is sick? She doesn't have diarrhea and hasn't vomited. She has been given her first round of shots and dewormed a couple times. Help! She's so sad and I just want my happy girl back.

Take her to the vet ASAP. She sounds like she's sick. Don't wait puppies can go downhill very quickly.

Not sure if you know, but the first thing you do when you bring any new dog home (or beforehand if you know you're getting a dog) is book a check-up at the vet within two or three days of the dog's arrival in your home. This is important, no matter where the dog comes from.

If you haven't already had the puppy checked out by a vet, then do it as soon as possible.

I hope the puppy feels better soon.

And carry the puppy in to the vet's office, or have her in a carrier, so she isn't exposed to illnesses from other dogs. Take in a poop sample if you can.
