If you are such a dog-lover, why are you not considering the well-being of the puppy? Would you leave a baby at home, alone, for hours? Puppies need companionship with their person, especially in their formative months. They need affection, reassurance, and companionship. Adolescents need guidance and training. This goes on until they are at least two. Time alone for an hour while they are napping in their crate is one thing, but will you be gone longer than that at a time, frequently throughout the day?

I think you are considering your desires over the needs of the companion you desire. That is never a good place to start a new relationship.

If you need to play with dogs and walk them, why not volunteer at a nearby shelter and give a lonely dog a chance at love. Many shelters will give their resident animals "kennel breaks" by sending them into a foster home for a day or two. There are many ways you can share your love for dogs selflessly.
