Thank you. He was my buddy, and my friend. I bawled like a baby for days, grieving. It was still, IMO, the best decision for him - quality of life and all that.
If they only get a year, or MAYBE two of life, AFAIC, when a vet wants to go the chemo route - the vet is more concerned about $$ than they are for the pet or the family.
Chemo is absolutely nasty when you have to do it. And, the vet always says: "maybe a few more months, maybe a year, maybe even two". If the vet could say, "oh, yeah, no problem, we'll see your dog clear of cancer and another 4-5 years of life!" If they could say that, I might make a different decision. But they never have, at least never have to me.
