It depends on the dog. Mine loved me but not being hugged. She did align her spine against mine while sleeping. But no hugs.

My mother's dog, I saw something that said many dogs would rather have hugs than even treats. I had to try that out. this dog really loves treats.

She loves hugs more, it's true for her. She was in heaven when I curled up with her in a giant hug she was over the moon.

Hard on me a little,, she is 70 pounds, but I really love her, so I do it!

What about a dog who *gives* hugs?

My tall shepard mix loves to stand on his back feet and hug, with plenty of wet kisses too. The other pets all seem to like them too, but don't initiate the hug.

Yes my puppy did that. So endearing. she put paws around my neck to give a real hug like a person.

My dog was very outspoken. He'd yipe at the slightest hint of anything that gave him discomfort.

Made me feel bad at the vet, but he always got over any pain quickly.

My border collie does not like being hugged. I view dogs being similar to people.... they are all different.

I can't live without hugs with my dog and she can't live with kisses. And she even doesn't eat if somebody didn't kiss her before meal. She has a mind of 3-year-old baby
