Beesley decided to be destructive this morning and found a peice of tin foil in the kitchen (where he was gated up) while I was showering and getting ready for work. For the record, I have no idea how the tin foil got on the floor...I'm VERY good about making sure he can't get to things he shouldn't be chewing on.
There were shreads of tin foil all over the floor when I checked on him, but I'm not sure if he actually ate any. Is tin foil something that can just pass through their system, or should I take him to the vet ASAP?
I had aluminum foild go through a dog that ate a bag of hershey's kisses. Other than diarreah [obviously from the chocolate] she seemed to just pass it. The yard was very interesting..........................
If it's just small pieces, it will pass. You'll have some interesting poop coming up! If he ate chunks of it, it might have sharp edges and that can be an issue. If you're not sure, give him some pieces of bread to coat his stomach. He should be fine. My dog is terrified of tin foil and if I even take the container out, he runs in the other room. Strange pup I have.

I don't think he ate chunks. My dog doesn't eat things he magically finds on the floor, he usually just chews on them and spits them out. I'm hoping that's the case with this...
While I was cleaning it all up, he just stood there, happily wagging his tail like I was HAPPY he had eaten it. I swear, my dog has a low mentality sometimes. That's why I love him!
One of our dogs ate tin foil once, too. It came out fine, I doubt you'll have anything to worry about. That dog of ours was something, I was always amazed at the things I would find out that he had eaten, once the "evidence" was left in the yard.

Same here...our youngest rescue is afraid of the wrap & foil rolls. Who knows what he went thru before we got him. I've showed him the rolls of wrap & he's sniffed them, but as soon as I start to pull any of the wraps/foil out, he backs away.
We think somebody must of hit him with the roll boxes. The poor baby was beat...we know that for a fact. When the rescue org. came across him, he was being beat by a #&%^*#!!! On a back lonely road in the country. Our sweet boy was taken away from this guy on the spot.
Thank goodness he found his way to us.
It's raining today...as our boy is playing with stuffed animals in his bed as I type this. He is so spoiled now.
He'll poop it out. It will be like Christmas poo -- full of tinsel!
