I am probably hoping for a toy that does not exist, but I thought I would try anyway.

Rhodesian mix, 6 months, 60 lbs, loves to chew. He has plenty nyla bones, but there are times he wants to chew soft items. I have bought him a 2 inch knotted rope, which he loves... but the last one it took him half a day to have it in 3 parts, and a mess of threads over the floor. I let him keep the knots (despite the mess) because he has chewed his crate bedding and a pricey carpet in search of his "soft" fix.

So I guess I am looking for soft and indestructible.

I just looked down at the floor and it looks like there was a mass murder of muppets.

String/rope type toys make me nervous about the pup ingesting pieces and having intestinal blockage. I use the Kong dental stick and it is virtually indestructible. The dental stick has deep ridges and I have found that chewers get relief with it as their teeth are able to really sink into the stick. They're pretty cheap on Amazon.

Yeah, we've got two nyla bones, a kong toy we use for nose work, and a west paw ball (like better than kong because the rubber is softer but in perfect shape after 3 years).

I'll try the denta stick too!

The kong bones are great, we have an x large red, and a lg black. The red is softer, but my big dogs haven't made a dent in them. Oh and the jolly balls! Mine take the rope out and ignore it, but they kill the ball part. Also the benebones have been a hit, but they are harder than nylabones.

Mine won't eat stuffing, so I buy stuffed animals at yard sales and wash them, and let them shred them (supervised) and then throw them away when they aren't watching oh and old pieces of hose, as long as they are supervised with that too. They whip great for a fetch, and tug.
Old towels and rugs are the new Puppy's favorites.

The only soft toys we have bought end up shredded.

Love for west paws here too.

This isn't soft, but I let my puppy mass murder empty water bottles and she loved them. No mess except flattened empty bottles. She also liked to rip boxes, a mess, but so be it.

Mine has developed a fetish for cans.

I'm sorry, I know you're serious when asking, but this made me chuckle

I've gotten my dog those fire hose toys before, they're supposed to be indestructible, but he is still able to rip into it. Of course it takes much longer. He can have a regular stuffed toy or rope torn apart within a few hours (or less). I think the last fire hose toy took about two weeks to start pulling threads from, and another two weeks before it was completely trashed.
