I love Maxy, he's a doll! Definitely not Whippet! He looks mostly, if not all, White Lab.
He looks like this girl too. She is a White Lab/Shepherd mix.
Maxy is fitting in with our family just fine. He now follows us around outside even without a leash. He has grown quite a bit. About 80 pounds right now. Vet said he might be as big as 100 to 120. He's not fat. Just a big dog.
Our neighbors and relatives love him. Here is a picture of Maxy waiting for my husband to die so he could have the brownie he's eating. Yes, my husband has a medical condition called pixelidis.

Pretty dog! Sorry to hear of your husband's medical condition! LOL!
Maxy is a fine-looking young dog; I'm so glad he's integrated into your family. I will miss the updates on his progress if/when you stop making them, but you certainly have no obligation to keep posting them.
The "pup" is still getting bigger and bigger. He is now much bigger than a normal lab.
So, we just observed something today that is a definite proof he was someone's family pet.
Before, I mentioned that I thought he was someone's pet before I found him in the wild by the fact that he was 100% potty trained. He's never had an accident at all in the house. But our friends who have had experiences with wild dogs told us once they are used to going outside they will not go inside.
Well, he's been barking at anything and everything. And since he's such a big dog now, his bark is the loudest in the neighborhood. You could hear him for many blocks away.
Earlier today, we bought a bark collar. Put it on him. He has been completely silent all day today. Not a single bark all day. The neighbor was out mowing and still silence. Normally, he'd be barking and barking at he neighbor.
I've been waiting all day for him to bark so the collar could train him. But nothing. Not a single sound from him.
This evening, my husband had one of those ah ha moments. He said may be this dog has had the collar on before. Oh my goodness, he's right! This dog has had the collar on before and he knew exactly what would happen if he barked.
To me, this is the definite proof we've been looking for that he was a family pet before I found him in the wild and not just a stray puppy.
