Our golden mix Max is sort of afraid of my one particular jacket, although my daughter would use it to play "bull fight" with him. She would use that as a cape and then he would charge into it like a bull would. Since we don't have a fence, he is on a long lead in the backyard when he does this. Because he is such a laid back dog, we felt that he needed this high-energy exercise from time to time.

From time to time, whenever we are emptying a new bag of dog food into the container, we'll leave a few pieces in the bag and put it on the floor and let Tonka "hunt" for his kibble.

Last week, we were emptying a new bag of food and Tonka was getting super excited about all of this kibble. He barely let me empty the bag and was doing his "beagle-dance-of-joy" and was just itching to get those few pieces of kibble.

I put the bag onto the floor, make sure the opening is large enough for him to crawl into, and off he goes. Like a bull in the china closet and a bat out of he**, straight into the bag, full speed ahead... and then CRASH! He ran head first into the oven.

What a picture Jezer, and all funny posts too.
We had a puppy that loved to grab the plastic pots after I planted and run away with them and chew them. Well one time he grabbed this 1 gallon plastic pot and ran, and dropped it right over his head, he looked like a real cone head. He didn't stop running, just ran faster until he ran into the screened porch.
I wish I would of have had a camera to catch that.,,,but you can imagine.

My old girl chased her tail, caught it, then yelped 'cause she bit it too hard! Yup, she's mine and I love her!

My mini Pomeranian watches The Animal Planet on TV. He just looks up and barks and barks at anything that walks on 4 legs. If a dog barks on TV Buddy barks at it with viciousness.

Ah, beagle stories. I'm glad to hear that my 9-year-old adopted beagle is normal.
He's great at rocketing up to the kitchen counter and snagging anything within reach. The other day, he got a foot-long loaf of crusty bread, and was racing around the couch with it in his mouth. I couldn't catch him, but he couldn't eat it as long as I was chasing him.

I also had a poignant thing happen. I took my 17-year-old cattle dog mix in to be put down- a sudden collapse into kidney failure, only a few bad days. While we were waiting for the vet, he snagged a dish of cat food that was there for the office cat. His last meal. (Ezra...)

I was watching my dachshund out in the yard one day when a leaf fell right on the top of his head. He wouldn't even move for a minute or two and then began to very, very slowly walk to the door to be let in. When he got in the house and I removed the leaf, he leaped for joy and ran all around the house in what is usually his post-bath crazy run! I'm not sure what exactly he thought the leaf might do to him, but he wasn't taking any chances with sudden movement! Crazy...

The happy and the sad. That is what is so special about being a pet owner. Thanks for sharing both stories!

Gotta love those beags - they're infamous for counter-surfing!

Mine did something similar once... he stole a piece of pizza off of our dining room table, and ran around in circles with the slice dangling from his mouth. I think he was so surprised to actually grab it that he forgot to eat it!
