Pensive update.

We just went out. She raced towards the woods, suddenly stopped and flung herself into a point.

Right in the same spot where she found the grouse, a feather or seed pod, or something light colored was caught on the top of a stalk of grass and it was fluttering in the wind.

She held the point for a full minute before she realized there was no bird. Then she decided that if a bird was there, she was going to find it and she set to work.

It's fun to watch her as she figures it out. You know how you say that someone wouldn't recognize it if it hit them in the face? Well the grouse hit her in the face and she recognized it. She's still not quite sure what "it" is, but she thinks maybe she should find out.

Haha, that must have been a sight to see!!

As a herding mix (not sure exactly what kind), my dog would be useless at this job. If we ever come across small ground animals, he just tries to move them somewhere safer... and he totally ignores most birds, I guess because they’d be impossible to herd? Anyway, it is fun to watch dogs doing what they’re meant to do - whatever it may be! I’ve always wanted to see Rudy test his skills at a sheep farm, but afraid he’s a bit old for that now.
