10 pounds ground beef
1/2 gallon rolled oats
1 Gallon hot water
1 pound french cut green beans, frozen
Smosh together, bake at 350 degrees until cooked all the way through.
I made two batches, 1 batch had 6 egg whites added, the other batch had 1/2 pound of grated cheddar added.
When I serve it, I add a fish oil capsule, a vitamin C pill, and bone meal powder per the package directions.
I use hot water because it warms up the mixture so I don't freeze my hands while mixing it. The water is for soaking and cooking the oats.
The dogs get whatever is on sale. This week, there was a good sale on the 88% hamburger, so the dogs get hamburger.
Last week I made cubes of pork leg with pumpkin and rice.
Keep an eye on the % of fat. Dogs can eat a lot of fat, but they don't switch amounts of fat very well. I don't buy the cheap fatty hamburger or pork butt because the fat content is too high. Keep the % of fat fairly consistent.
If you are used to feeding kibble, the amount of fresh home cooked looks tiny. It's all usable, no filler to make the serving look larger or to make you think you are getting a lot for your money. When you switch to home cooked, you must watch the dog's weight carefully and adjust the amount fed so the dog doesn't get fat.
(meat loaf is baking right now and it smells amazing.
