I too, like Sam, have been sending this thread to everyone showing off Britches. My mom was so suprised just how adorable he was. He's my mascot for all things cute about bullies. I can't get enough of him. My new personal favorite is him going down the slide! How did you get him to do that?
We have a few people (in Texas) but not in our area that do home checks for us, but they're people we've known for ever. I'll have to look into it tomorrow and see what the deal is. The other big problem with people so far away is we don't ship our dogs.

A treat was at the bottom of the slide and he would just go down. After a couple times he just kept going back.

There is nothing like a sound sleeping puppy!

He's doing good. Getting over a respiratory infection, but doing much better now. He's a wopping 25 pounds now and growing like a slow weed.. He's becoming a little meaty boy!

We've been trying to get him used to Duncan. Britches picks on him so much I thought they'd never be freinds; until the other night.

I should have more pictures some time soon. Thanks for keeping him in your thoughts.

Hi, Deegers,
Thank you for suggestion. The key element for adoption is to make sure the new dog will get along with my GSD. I know I can fly a staff member from the rescue to my home to do home check and drive to pick up the dog. What if these two dogs don't get along, what do I do? I don't like to keep a dog in a crate all the time. The new dog will play with my dog. Keeping them separated is not in my plan. What I need is a dog that I can bring my GSD to meet and a dog that can agree with my GSD's play style. The only reason I think Briches may be a candidate is that some pictures of his play style that are posted here. It is the same style that my GSD uses to play with my neighbor's 4 month old puppy. If a suitable dog showed up and get along with my GSD, that will be great. By the way, my GSD is a lover and will love any dog that doesn't bite her. But again, I don't know enough about dogs to determine whether they will get along.

I guess it is easy to adopt any dog from rescue. It is not easy to find one that my GSD and I will love. I found one I like recently in a county shelter that next to mine. Guess what?? There is a long waiting list (~50 families on that list and the county resident has a priority). I am very confused. It seems very difficult for us to find a no kill shelter for abandoned dogs and it is not so easy to get one out of their hands too. Maybe I am too picky. Well, I am not that familiar with the rescue organizations and still learning my way. I think I am one of those people who are afraid of rescue dogs but are willing to give it a try. So I am picky.

By the way, Britches is a beautiful dog.

No, but you have a point. I ment that if he got along with cats. Hence someone who adopts him might have cats...
