For those who can't do without the joy of a canine companion but want to keep their allergies at bay, I suggest you consider the following breeds:
Bedlington Terrier
Bichon Frise
Chinese Crested
Irish Water Spaniel
Kerry Blue Terrier
Maltese
Poodles (Toy, Miniature or Standard)
Portuguese Water Dog
Schnauzer (Miniature, Standard or Giant)
Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier
Xoloitzcuintli

You forgot Yorkshire Terriers.. they don't shed either.

The only thing about dogs who don't shed is you have to bath them frequently and most need professional grooming.

But, IMHO they are worth it... I love my Yorkie

I am sure there are lots not listed...this came from AKC...UKC did not even have a list nor any of the overseas breed clubs. So if you know other BREEDS then please add them here! So many people ask this I thought I would start a thread to help out!
I have a friend that her & her kids have a Boxer...the only breed they can come near!

Shih Tzu's also don't shed, but are right there with Yorkies with grooming and baths. Although we keep our dogs hair short, so that cuts down on the grooming.

Basenjis shed very little-- just before summer when the weather's getting hot and that's it. They need few baths, don't smell and never need grooming. They groom themselves, like cats (only with no fur balls!). They have a very low maintenance coat, and they're such pretty dogs. They don't bother my allergies at all.

I love our Bichon Frise.

Not only is it a nonshedder but an excellent family dog that has a good temperament.
