Those are just ones that are AKC registered. I can't imagine that most dogs people here have are registered. I am also suprised pit bulls aren't on the list cause I see so many of them.

My bloodhounds would not show up on list. #1 in my heart and eyes also, but I am talking working class hounds not show dogs.

I am sure there is a big difference is most popular registered and most popular breed. Missy, pitbulls arent a breed, just a bunch of dogs lumped into a category.

Because AKC does not reconise the "pitbull" they reg them as American Staffishire Terriors [might not have spelled it right!...sorry]

We're not on the list . We're the 12th largest city in the US and the 3rd largest on the East Coast (after NYC and Philly) and we didn't make it on the list .

Oh well. We have lots of pit bulls, golden retrievers, labrador retrievers, pugs, pomeranians...

Acording to the UKC web site the Pitbull is the #2 dog for 2007!
