jcsam, well done in taking all this in wisely. Definitely some good suggestions for you here. keep us posted on how it goes. I'm greatly interested in what the trainer will advise in the situation.

I usually feed them at different times or in different rooms. I do make them sit when we go for a walk, before we leave the house. I don't do it when they eat, I'll start that tonight. I found that using water from the hose breaks them up pretty fast.

I never thought about having full blood panels ran. I'll have to look into that!

Thanks a million everyone!!!!!

Her thyroid levels were so low the lab couldn't even detect it! She's doing great now! Needless to say he was shocked, b/c he felt she didn't meet many of the criteria for hypothyroid...but we kept telling him her mood became worse and her energy level dropped.
Ours is hypothyroid as well and now she is stable and quite the lover. We didn't have a blood panel ran until she ended up with pustules on her back from the pollin. At first we thought it was because we moved into a new home, but when the thyroid level came back "1," wholly cow, we got her on the meds and she is a 4.2 now. Has energy, sleeps soundly at nite, so soundly, she snores!

Pepper and Greco is on a distinguished road
I need help... I have a bull mastiff puppy (9months) and a 2 year old boxer. These two dogs loved each other to dead. About a week ago they got into a really bad fight -- now they can not even see each other. I need to know if anyone knows of a trainer who would be willing to bring my two dogs together again. My whole entire family is devastated to see these two adorable dogs split apart.

definitely try having an obedience trainer come to your home and observe. see my post, dog on dog aggression. I was dealing with a similar issue, the new dogs in my house attacking my dog repeatedly. The trainer was able to observe them as a pack and tell me what I needed to do differently to gain control. I have followed the instructions and no fights in almost 3 weeks but, every situation is different. I don't believe you have to get rid of anyone, you just need a professional to assess the dynamics and instruct you on how to deal with them. Best of luck to you.
