Default Puppy vomiting & so on..

Tomorrow we're bringing her to the vet but I wonder what might be wrong with her (the vet didn't panic or say WE HAD TO bring her).

She's 7 months old, acting fine all day (except Monday she vomited a little), had some very runny poop (which she keeps having). Then every night she vomits about 2,3 in the morning. Yesterday morning she vomited 4 times.

Acts fine the next day, wants to eat & play, but again at night same thing.

I thought maybe by 2 or 3 she got a bit hungry and gave her some cereal last night before we went to bed...no such luck...vomited and had runny poop again..

Today we only gave her kibble and a little white rice (as per the vet).
So far no pooping and no vomiting...

Any clue what you think it could be? Sometimes her tummy makes noises and gurgles...maybe a virus? (my husband and I are both sick).

Thanks for your comments!

What type of dog? Probably just an intestinal thing but glad you're taking her in.

does the dog gulp food? is it yellow vile? how often is the dog fed. when my dogs did that-they did not eat, I was told for 1 day just to give water.
and keep them quiet. next day in the a.m. they either had the old hamburg-boiled-and strained-then the rice cooked- just a little bit warmed up. or baby food warmed up works great. just get the hamburg, boil and strain out the fat. then get the minute rice-keep in 2 containers and feed it. a.m. and p.m. in the a.m. one puppy did spit up yellow vile with an empty tummy!
she was a hungry dog- however, she did not chew then did spit up. keep some baby food in the house, i also did hear pumpkin in the can-not the pie stuff-helps. that was in dog fancy. I also was told no dog food-just rice=hamburg-or the baby food-and water even with ice cubes at all times.

Stop feeding her for 24 hours.
Go get some raw natural pumpkin, not that pie filler that you see in the store, but 100% raw pumpkin one.

After 24 hours, boil some white rice and chicken, add table spoon of pumpkin to it. See if this will help to calm the stomach.

Let us know what vet said.
Good luck!

It could be so many things. What type of dog is it?

My Yorkie/Silky terrier has a very sensitive stomach. He can't have ANY table food or else he'll get diarrhea. He also needs to graze -- eat several tiny meals. Sometimes you just have to learn what the puppy needs and what to avoid.

But, in the case of a puppy, he could have gotten into something he shouldn't have or eaten something bizarre. You never know! I hope he feels better soon! (The raw pumpkin is a GREAT suggestion -- they love it and it does help stop diarrhea.)

cottage cheese and the plain yogurt is also bland and good. it is like when we are sick. the hamburg might be easier to boil than chicken. If the dog is full of energy, I think the vet thinks no big rush. Also you might do 4 very small meals. the smell of the hamburg with rice! I think I did read they sell in the can the real pumkin and do the add table spoon since you will see the vet you might ask, b sure it is not the pie stuff.

It sounds like it could be the food she's eating.

My dog has never had a problem with any food but suddenly developed something similar - diahrrea and vomiting. As soon as he ate, it was coming out of him.. Prior to the diarrhea, I noticed that his poop was yellow. After he got sick, he got to where he didn't want to eat it. He was so sick he was actually scaring me - almost dehydrated from not being able to keep anything in his stomach. I thought he was dying.

I bought some different food and the very next day everything started getting back to normal. (In his case, I switched him to a lamb and rice food from a chicken based product... )

You need to remember It is a Puppy... puppies eat everything. We have a puppy (he is now 11months old and weighs 165-170lbs) that has gone through it all.. ughhhh we have been up through out the night watching him because of things he has gotten a hold of..
I will just give you an example of what he has done to put his self in the ICU Vet Hospital... a few months ago he came in and laid down which wasn't normal for him,.. didn't want to eat or drink anything, started slobbering all over his self and well I figured he had a virus or something and expected our other dogs to get it too..so we all goto bed he is still drooling and looking worse had runny poop but wasn't throwing up until 2am.. (I knew it wasn't the food he eats because he had been eating it since he was 6weeks old (They are IAM'S Dog)...so that next morning I decided I probably should run him to the vet just to be on the safe side..well we get there of course they ran blood test found nothing..did stomach x-ray and they thought he had an obstruction in his tummy (like maybe he ate something he shouldn't have) and wanted me to rush him to the emergency vet 30 mins from here.. so I did.. we was told they may have to do surgery on him to remove this object and well we knew that was going to cost us (they said $5000-$7000 dollars for surgery)... so the ER Vet did x-rays and well found no obstruction so they run more blood test and found he had a bacterial/Viral infection from eating something DEAD.. yIKES... I was glad of no surgery but we still had to leave him in the vet ICU for 3days.. and he is now fine! But the point I'm making is your dog could have ate something it shouldn't have or it being a puppy could have worms you didn't know about.. So get your puppy to the vet to be on the safe side.. it could be nothing she could just have a virus/24 hour bug..like we get. Hope all turns out better than mine did..

She was fine last night..no stools but also no vomiting. I know we feed her too many treats and 'people food.' That is stopping!
I am limiting her treats and only giving meat (bits) on occasion. I have learned my lesson...!!

Thanks for your help!
