Trimming your dog's nails
When I trim my dog's nails, I use clippers and a nail file.
I saw an infomercial on Pedi Paws and was wondering if anyone ever tried it.

I use a dremel tool (cordless, rechargeable) - it works beautifully.

I use a Proxxon rotary tool, similar to the dremel, but with infinite speed adjustment. I grind the nails often, so the quick tends to recede and I can keep the nails short. Personally, I like to see the angle of the sanding drum against the nail, so I can judge how short I can grind. The nails on each of my dogs are slightly different--I can go very short on the larger dogs, but one of the smaller one's nails are very hooked and I grind them differently. The other's nails are flattened and difficult to grind because they are soft and brittle. (Poor nutrition from his time as a feral dog, perhaps?) I think the guard on the Pedi Paws would be a problem for me, because it would obstruct my view. I haven't used it though, so it may work.

I have a friend who bought and returned it pronto. Her dog is a medium size with just meduim thickness in the nails. It couldn't penetrate the nail. I imagine if you have a small or miniture dog, it would work fine.
I also use a Dremel on my Goldens.

I use a Dremel w/varying speeds (on low) w/a 120 grit sanding band on my dobermans nails. She doesn't really love it, but it is no more bothersome for her than when I used clippers. Just be careful not to let the nail get hot from the friction if you use this method. Short increments.

It looks like a good idea, doesn't it? I researched the product when I saw the ad and I read a lot of negative reviews. It was back in April when I was looking at it so maybe the wrinkles have gotten worked out since then. I believe there were complaints about some part not lasting as well as the tool supply (being shipped from China so long waits).
If you try it and it works, I'd like to hear about it. My crew (and I, lol) would appreciate an easier method.

Hey I am waiting on one, I will let you all know, I have two mini daschunds, they are not big on nail clipping so there will be many treats available. I am not one to waste money so I will be truthful, yea, they said two to three weeks.

I use the old nail clipper, in between grooming visits. I only do a few at a time
She does not enjoy it, and has black nails. I also do it when she is worn out! and have the powder if I cut too short. The grinder she never would tolerate. I would be homeless! Maybe called in for shopping, and to walk and feed!
