Not sure if dogs get hairballs, but people sure do - it's called a bezoar, a combination of undigested good and whatever else ends up at the bottom of the stomach. In people it takes surgery to remove, but it's a harmless condition for the most part - I worked with someone who had one.

Thanks everyone- I will find out in AM tomorrow- she looked fine tonight though the dr gave her Rx for anxiety, and she had a V-collar as she bit the IV-lol- a true shar-pei. A trooper.

Dream, so sorry to hear this . You have not been having the easiest time with the dogs lately, let's hope this is the last drama for a good long while .

Let's hope there is a swift resolution for Jackie, she's a beauty .

Let us know how it goes, poor thing, a week of not feeling good .

Yes- Im getting her at 4:00; looks like we will do an endoscopy to see what the shadow is in her stomach, they either can do surgery or the less invasive endoscopy. Poor jackie- I have to drive all the way to Knoxville as they dont do endoscopy here...Ill let you know when thats scheduled. It really helps to know people care.

How aggravating that you--and she--have to wait even longer to get a final diagnosis! As others before me have iterated, please keep us informed.

Give her a pat and an "attagirl" for me.

Thanks. She is home, sleeping soundly, hoarse from barking too much. The vet Dx= possible gastric foreign body or growth- hopefully its removable; I will have to drive 2 hours to get to Knoxville vet specialist. In the meantime keeping an eye on her and giving her only pureed food.

One reason I wish I lived near a city again, I could probably set the procedure for tomorrow, everything here is so inconvenient.
