Blondie, check the website for Pasado's Safe Haven up in Washington. You can follow a link to a site that lists all the states which have animal cruelty laws - and those which don't -just in case you don't already know where to find it.

Here in Oregon, we are lucky to have some of the best laws (and yet, they are still not strong enough).

This is exactly why people should be more upset with the Michael Vick's of this world, with the subhumans who transport, breed and train fighting animals, and the backyard breeders. That is out and out torture. Why aren't people as upset about that? Like I said, they're much more difficult targets to hit.

Holy cow, this is a sorrowful thread.

The fact is, this police dog, Bandit, DID have rights. The sheriff prosecuted his handler for animal abuse on the dog's behalf. Every dog that dies as a result of negligence should receive the same consideration, but few do.
