A must need for Blind or Deaf Dogs!
I just received my " I'm Deaf " sleeve for my Lyla. I feel so secure now that she has it on! Anyone who has a deaf or blind dog should order this. They also have the cutest Adopt Me Vests....even with little pockets on each side of the vest for donations. They ship quick and the girl is wonderful to deal with. Here is the website:
Thankful Paws - Specializing in Donation Dog and Adopt-Me Coats, Deaf Dog and Blind Dog Apparel
My Lyla is safe and secure in her new I'M Deaf Sleeve! Lyla is a medium size dog with medium collar (1/2 inch) I ordered a medium sleeve.

I am ordering an I'm Shy sleeve for my Jenny girl!

I think that's a good idea.
"Why isn't that dog responding to my call?"

Very awesome...thanks for sharing!
I just recently encountered two dogs in my neighborhood that had gotten out of their backyard and were running lose. I called the number on the tags and waited for the owner to pick them up. Jokingly I said, "The small one doesn't really like to listen and prefers to do his own thing, huh." The owner then told me the dog is deaf. I felt so small...but then again, once I knew that, I was a little upset at the owner for taking their time to pick up the dogs...I was sitting there in the pouring rain with my own dogs waiting on the owner to come. It would have been nice to know the dog is deaf...thank goodness they didn't make it to a main road either!

Ah! Good for you for helping them get home safe! When I first rescued Lyla I put on her tag that she was deaf, but just never felt that was enough. From afar no one would know, now people can see! You should pass this website to that woman! But then again some people could care less!

WC...You are right! For some reason Lyla is scared when I point the camera at her. She always runs away. She just happened to be sitting there and I snapped some pics quick. Right after that she ran for the hills. I cannot figure out why she fears a camera. I take tons of pics of my dogs except her, I do not like to spook her too often with the camera!

Blondie, Did you teach Lyla sign language? I've mentioned this before in other posts, I had trained my Eng Springer Spaniel 100% sign language, no voice commands. Freckles was just so wonderful with the signs. She passed with flying colors at the Tallahassee Advocate for the Deaf Organization.
