I have some sad news about Liam. Not long after I posted here he started vomiting, a lot. I do know that he ate a bit of grass earlier in the day and assumed that was all it was. He quickly became very lethargic and started breathing shallow. We took him to the emergency clinic and found out that he has Parvo. We are of course doing treatment, the Vet said that he has a 60% chance of making it.

Please say a prayer, or send some positive thoughts his way. He is such a sweet little guy and has had such a hard life. I just want him well and happy. I will update when I know which way this will go. Thank you for all the nice comments to the first post, he is a beauty.

Liam died today at 10:20. He was lying in bed with me and my husband. We were all trying to get some sleep when he started gasping, then he died. We only had him for 5 days, but it seems like he was here forever and I'm beyond crushed. Thanks again for all the nice replies and good thoughts.

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss. He was beautiful and seemed to fit into your household so nicely. How lucky he was to have had your love at the end!

The five days he spent with you were probably the best days of his life. Not all of us will be as lucky as Liam was, to die in the arms of those who love us...

Godspeed

Wow... I can't imagine how you must feel. But, you gave him something that he'd apparently never had -- a person who loved him.

I hope you'll adopt another dog soon. You sound like you'd be a wonderful dog mom.
Maybe he came into your life for just a few days to let you know that you really do want a dog in your life!

I'm so sorry for your loss. He really was precious!

So sorry, that must have been very painful - at least he was in a good place the last days of his life.

Thank you for giving that little dog the best 5 days of his life. Your compassionate heart is evident by reading your posts. My condolences. My thoughts are with you and your family this evening.

Zorya - I'm so sorry for your loss - Parvo is so terribly dangerous. Thank you for taking this boy into your home and for acting without hesitation when he started having problems. That point can't be brought home strongly enough. We on the forum are here to help as much as we can, but when your pet begins behaving strangely, vomiting profusely, having massive diarrhea, or has eaten an unknown substance - it's time to go to the pros immediately.

You did everything right and you loved this little guy with all your heart during the short time you had him. I'm very, very sorry for you...but thank you for doing all you did, and doing it so quickly. Blessings to you - I know you will always hold Liam in your heart.
