She likely has a urinary tract infection. She needs to get to a vet!

How old is your dog? Alot of older female dogs, especially spayed ones leak urine when they sleep. Jazz started to do it so we went to see the vet and a small dose of DES ( estrogen) twice a week fixed the problem. There could be other causes but this is the common one. As my mom use to say what is so golden about the golden years?

yes take her to a vet my dog had a UTI and she would "leak" at night and during the day squat and try and go over and over but nothing would come out. They set her up on antibiodics and she was better within a week!

I think it could be that she is just old? She is 16 in human years.

What if it's not though? Not worth taking any chances. I think a trip to the vet to get her checked out and weigh out any issues is the way to go.

Sounds like a urinary tract infection. So I would put the dog on antibiotics for a week or so and see if the problem clears.
My dog did the same thing. Peed on the both of us while we slept. I kept waking up in a puddle. But antiobiotics seemed to have fixed the problem.
Vet also tried to talk to me about incontinence, but try the antibiotics first.
Good luck.

Katie - Isn't doggie year more that human years. They used to say 7 but now they have made it complicated. Depends on type of dog, size, environment, etc.

Dogs Age = 16 years
translates to the following in human age terms:
under 20 lbs = 80 yrs. old
21-50 lbs = 87 yrs. old
50-90 lbs = 99 yrs. old
90 lbs and over = 123 yrs. old
I agree with all the other posters, have her checked out for a urinary tract infection. Just because she's an old dog, doesn't mean something is horribly wrong with her.
