Whether we want to admit it or not, the Holidays will be here before we know it.

If you're planning on leaving town, make your preparations now for your pets. It doesn't matter if you're wanting an in home pet sitter or a boarding facility or vet clinic, you need to get a move on.

If you're depending on a neighborhood teen, make certain they double check with parents before committing. I've seen this too many times before and a week before you plan on leaving the teen informs you too late.

Whichever avenue you choose; vet clinic, boarding kennel or pet sitter, do your homework to make certain your pet's stay will be an enjoyable one.

Yes out of 100 kennels we only have 20 left and of the 16 cat condos we have none left (for Thanksgiving). The cats filled up by about mid-August.

If you are having an adult look after your pet in your home, make sure that the adult is not having personal problems. I have had friends who asked others to look after their pets, and when personal problems arose, they left the pets unattended. Always have a Plan B.
