Default Pet Hair

We have two shelties that live inside with us, and I too am a clean freak!
However, it seems those two don't really go together! lol.
I purchased a ROOMBA Ibot, and actually let it run about once a day, then I vacuum with the regular vacuum once a week.
The ROOMBA goes over all my rugs, carpet, and even to the edge of the steps without going over. It's amazing. It works for us....

We have a dalmatian (used to have two). They only shed twice a year.. day and night

My wife got an Electrolux Oxygen. It's a bagged canister. It works REALLY well. Not sure which model it is.

It was less than $300. Started at $400 with the local appliance store.. they are hurting so bad the guy called back a few days after she looked at it and said he would knock $100 off.

She said "fine, if you throw in some extra bags too".. I love my wife!!!

EDIT: We also have a Roomba. It works very well, but we never remember to run it.

Thanks for the replies. I think I like bagless vacs for their convenience, so I'll definitely check out the Dyson Animal. Maybe with my tax refund.

Just as a FYI...I recently had my older Dyson in to have the plug fixed...(it did something really weird) and the vaccum place asked me how old it was and where I bought it. I had gotten it on sale at BedBath&Beyond(and used a 20% off coupon). I asked why he asked where it was bought. He said those units that were bought at places like WalMart, K-Mart, etc..because they were cheaper to begin with, carried less of a warranty!

Yes, I've heard of this. Will keep an eye out for a good one at a good price.

Good to know about the Dyson warranty. We've heard great things and would like to get one someday.

We had a black Lab that shed like crazy. Big drifts of hair all over the place! It would build up in edges of the stairs and along the mopboards, not mention plug up the air conditioning vents. The big intake vent was at floor level and would suck in hair all the time.

It's amazing where the hair ends up, isnt it? When I had my husky, we used to call the clumps of hair that would float across the room (usually when we had company) 'tumbleweeds'

How much does a Rainbow vacuum run? I'm not familiar with that brand.

I have cats and a Dyson (not the "Animal," though). My favorite thing about the Dyson is that it's bagless. We have to empty the canister a lot, so I'm sure that we've saved a lot of money that we would have spend on bags.
