Please suggest a pet insurance
I have used ASPCA and they were ok, just had low caps on what they paid. I was wondering if anyone knew of a better one. This was good as they had a yearly deductible of $100, not each time like some. Please let me know if you are involved with one that's better. She is only 13 mos old, but I think I need something since she is from a kennel and who knows. Maybe even the accident plan would be enough.

I don't know anyone that actually has pet insurance. Most folks I know either have a credit card set aside for pet emergencies or they open an interest bearing account and place funds in there for future use.
I'll be interested to see what others on here do.

I browsed and could only find where quite expensive.
Luckily my vet is badass and never charges me enough to where I would need insurance.

I think you are better to set up your own emergency account.

VPI or Petfirst
Petfirst Healthcare
Pet Insurance from PetFirst Healthcare
Vetrinary Pet Insurance
Veterinary Pet Insurance (VPI) - Dog Insurance, Cat Insurance, Pet Health Insurance
I've used both. I had VPI when my Bichon was young. I foolishly stopped and she got bladder stones, needed bladder surgery, had tooth problems and then lost her sight (all by 6 years of age). We now have a second dog (a crazy Havanese) and I have Petfirst (through Kroger). Of course no preexisting conditions are covered, but who knows what my Bichon will get next. I've been very happy with Petfirst, but when I looked on their website yesterday it looked like they changed their premiums (I pay $40/month for both dogs which includes $120/year for Heartworm, Flea and Tick plus a decent reimbursement for annual checkups, vaccines, teeth cleaning, etc.).

We have two basset hounds and right after we got them as a puppy we got PetFirst. They have been wonderful. The male basset eats stuff, like rocks and bells from lawn ornaments. In one year, we used up $10,000.00 (almost) for one dog by two open laparotomies where they cut the dogs belly completely open to get the object out. They tried an endoscopy, but could not grasp the object. The girl basset has had some urine problems (blood in urine) and some gastroenteritis. They reimbursed us within 3 weeks with no problems, just a copy of the office chart or the emergency center record. I LOVE PET FIRST and would recommend them in a heartbeat. Our monthly bill is approximately 40.00 per dog. for $10,000.00 worth of coverage per dog/per year, and up to $2500.00 per event. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. They also pay a percentage of routine health care and vaccinations, including spaying and neutering.

I have 24Pet Watch. It has more than paid for itself. They have a number of different plans/premiums.
