vangoghdi is on a distinguished road
Default Di's dog biscuits-excellant!

Here goes..this is my recipe:

Heat oven to 300 degrees

1pkge dry yeast
1/4 c. warm water

Mix

1 c. warm broth (I use whatever broth I have from boiling the meat.)
2 T molasses

Mix in with yeast water

Boil chicken livers or beef livers until done-I use a lot of meat, usually 2 containers of chick or beef livers.
Then I puree them and add to the mixture. If I have too much broth I save it to pour a little over my dogs dry food at breakfast time.
1 c.flour
1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. cracked wheat ( I sometimes use oatmeal or cream of wheat.)
1/2 c. cornmeal
1 egg
1/2 non-fat powdered milk
2 t. garlic powder

Mix with all of the above.
I purchased 2 large aluminum pans-the disposable ones, but I keep reusing them-and sprinkle some flour in them. Then I roll the dough (flour as needed to roll) in the pans. You will need both pans. Roll the dough to about 3/8". If is thicker you will need to let it cook a bit longer so that it becomes crisp. Cut your biscuits before baking. Bake for 45m. If you don't bake them crispy, you can crumble them to feed to your cats, but you will need to keep them in the refrigerator for them not to mold. Leave the biscuits in the oven over night.

I usually have to bake my biscuits longer because I refuse to measure them in thickness.

Thank you for sharing! I do appreciate treat options that I absolutely know what's going into them. If you only knew what I pay at the dog bakery we frequent for noncommercial treats.
