Gosselin, the embattled father of TLC's reality show "Jon and Kate Plus 8," is now responding to allegations that he and his family have been mistreating their German shepherd puppies, Shoka and Nala. A June 4 interview published on People.com in which Gosselin said that his kids often "beat" their dogs sparked an outcry of complaints to the local branch of the Humane Society.

I don't like the Gosselins but this new allegation is over the top. His initial description of the way his children treat the dogs wasn't over the top. Goodness, they are German Shephards! They certainly wouldn't take a beating from those children if they felt abused. People really need to get a grip with reality. John Gosselin described a normal relationship between children and dogs.

I find the whole thing ridicules also.

German Shepherds can be, and are, abused just like any other dog. Weather the abuser is an adult or a child.
