She came to us after her previous owners decided to keep Katie's puppy and get rid of her. The men and boys in the family abused her. She's now fully spoiled rotten. She's still leary of men but is much more calm now.

She awakes me in the morning to go for a walk. She senses when one of us is feeling bad and goes to that person for attention. When there's a thunderstorm she gets scared and shakes in fear and hides under the blanket with her mommy. When I scratch a certain spot she grunts like a person having a massage. She loves cheese, carrots, string beans, and chicken.

Our neighbor's dog runs free. He's a blue heeler mix (sp?) and he guards our Katie. His name is Smokey and he chases away the cats and keeps stray dogs away from Katie. He even follows us home to see her safely home. When we walk, Katie walks up to Smokey, stands on her back legs to reach his nose, sniff and lick each other's face, and then go about the walking business. We keep her on a leash for her protection. We live in the country with stray dogs, hawks, and owls.

We got her through a third party that my wife use to work with. We don't know where she is now. No way to contact them. We do share our food with her but very sparingly. Small pieces of bread crust, tiny pieces of cheese, string of chicken meat, round steak bone, and some crackers. We're cautious.
To give you an idea how spoiled she is, she has her own bed which is put next to our bed at night. Sometimes she sleeps with us and other times she gets too hot and hops back into her bed. But in the morning I have to carry her, bed and all, from the bedroom to the living room. She looks around the corners trying to find "mommy". "Mommy" calls her little princess as she sits on her throne. She also has a soft pillow on the loveseat with a fur lined blanket. She lays under the blanket with her head out. From that position she can see out the front door. When I go to bed she has to get in bed with me. I lay on my right side and she throws herself on her back on my right arm so I can scratch her belly. After she's been fully scratched I tell her night night and she either goes under the covers or in her bed. With my wife, she lays on my wife's chest on her belly face to face with my wife. After some loving, she scoots herself backwards until her body is between my wife's legs and her head is laying on her groin looking up at my wife. Nope, not spoiled at all. We take her to the vet on a regular basis for nails, anal glands, and checkups.

What a lucky little dog! We've got three and they're spoiled too.
