Some really terrible people own pit bulls. Stories like this really turn my stomach.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Humane Society is offering a $1,000 reward in the disturbing case of a pit bull found inside a trash bag in a Southeast Washington dumpster, clinging to life despite being wounded in what investigators believe was a dog fight.
My sister found 4 lab puppies (maybe 3 weeks old) in a trash bag in a dumpster next door to her workplace about 2 years ago. One died fairly quickly, but the other two were re-homed and my dad kept one for himself.
My childhood dog, Poo-gee (I was 3 and tried to pronounce Poochie but failed, and the dog got stuck with my mis-pronounciation), was found by my two brothers and his friends in a creek behind our house.
They were in a burlap bag and just born. It was winter.
Three of the litter were dead, the two on top survived. A neighbor saved one. We took Poo-gee. My mom defrosted Poo-gee with a baby bottle, warm milk with a little brandy and sugar. Guess it worked. Poo-gee lived to be 18 and was always very healthy. Smart, too. Go figure.
