rudy does look similar I was leaning lab / pit except the size : was that pic from five months ? because my dogs paws and head are twice that of your pup.. ? how much does rudy weigh ? height at shoulders ?

No that picture was taken a couple weeks ago, he is about 11 months old. I actually just measured him, he is about 21" at the shoulder, 55lbs. If your dog is that much bigger, there maybe something else mixed in...or he may be something else entirely. However, there is HUGE variation in size in both labs and pits...because bigger is supposedly better to some people.

We adopted Shadow from the pound at 4 months of age. Originally we were told she was a Cattle Dog mix. Now we believe her to be a Border Collie mix, but mixed with what? She is very lean, all legs, tiny paws, short fur, little shedding, severe underbite, classic BC herding behaviors, super intelligent, protective yet loving and easy going, about 40 lbs at 1 year of age, primarily black with a white collar, merle down her chest, her nose and on each paw. Loves to sun bathe. Any ideas?

Shadow is stumping me, that's for sure! She's really cute though; I do know that!

I have another for your guys- our dog Sage. She's the one on the far left. My boyfriend brought her back from the Navajo reservation in AZ. I think she's shepherd, collie, and sheltie, but who knows? She weighs ~35 pounds, super intelligent, ridiculously loyal to Matt (my boyfriend), and has a thick, long coat. She's really agile too. Any thoughts?

Yeah... I never miss an opportunity to post pictures of my dog.

Looks like a beagle/shepherd mix to me.

TomSD, you have a nice looking beastie. I love mastiffs, and he definitely has some blonde mastiff in him, and I'm also thinking maybe some golden lab, judging by his ears, and the shape and coloration of his nose.

Very nice looking dog indeed.
