I came across this site while searching "rottweiler." Not sure what type of forum this is , but I'm hoping someone can help me. I've found a rottweiler and don't believe someone just dumped her - at least I hope not. She's a very sweet dog, obviously well-loved by someone who took time to train her. She's very obedient, smart, gentle and shy. I'd like to find her owner and believe someone must be looking for her. At any rate, it's been over 2 months and I'm not able to keep her myself, and none of the usual places will take her due to liability. I'm in the greater Atlanta area. Does anyone know of any rottweiler rescuers? I haven't had any luck with searching, and really don't know where to start. Thanks for any help.
you may have to be willing to travel a bit to get her into a good rescue if there are none available in your immediate area....... driving yourself is not possible, there are transport groups that the rescue might can set something up with......
You should start a new thread here in the dog forum and Title it something about rescuing a Rottie. That will be more visable and there are lots of rescue people here that will help.
I'm not familiar with this site at all and thought this was the dog forum. - I got to this posting with a google search of 'rottweiler' and need to learn to navigate the site.

I came back this evening hoping for some guidance and really appreciate the response from you folks.
I'm not able to take a lot of time off work, but if I could find someone to rescue her, I'd do my best to get there.

there are rescue transports traveling around the country every weekend..... i drive a few legs once or twice a month myself..... well, i will again when my knee is better...... if you are able to find a rescue group to take her, they likely can set something up with a transport group to get her where she needs to be.......
I wish so much we could rescue her.
I have a friend in the NC/SC border she has many rescues. She even rescues pot bellied pigs. I will check with her. Keep us updated.
