We used to train in a group and away from home...so I needed something that would travel well and not completely stink up my bait bag. The freezed dried chicken was perfect..no smell, no mess and the dogs loved it.
Where do you find freezed dried chicken? pet store?
As I posting the pup has pulled the mat out of his crate and wresting with it to exhaustion. They are lot of fun !
Don't try hot dogs my dogs loves them but boy it is stinky on the other end later...It could kill you... Yah know what I mean... I use beef dog stick instead and no problem with tooty.... also try popcorn....My dog goes crazy and he don't mind if it is stale.
These are by far the best training treast we found. We used them when he was in puppy preschool. They are very tiny, so perfect for training. Only problem is finding a local retailer. I only know of 2 stores in my area that carry them.
I use chicken breast, too. I bake it, cool it, and cut it into chunks. I intersperse with small cheese chunks because my trainer says it is better to have a variety. I recently have been offering him some leftover dry cat food I bought (thought I had a stray; turned out to be a neighbor's kitty!) too - the pieces are small and he loves it.
