I have a cat named Bella.... of course she was named after Bellatrix, the evil murdering witch in the Harry Potter series. It suits her well

To the OP, your dog is adorable! I know 3 Bellas, and they're all Bulldogs!

You guys crack me up. That is a lot of Bellas. Mine is Isabella Grace but we just call her Bella. I love the Bella of the Ball. And yes, PC is the ONLY one I have ever heard named that. LOL

I've known a lot of Bellas, long before Twilight.
And the name suited all of them--but I do like the name.
Also, I always think of Belle, the Great Pyrenees in Belle and Sebastian. (Not the band that took the name, but the comic/cartoon that the band took their name from.)

My best guy friend has a black lab named Bella, that he gets asked 24/7 if he named her due to Twilight (to be fair he is a gothy/punk/emo type dresser and is fairly morbid), and he always gives an evil snare and proceeds to tell them, "no, she is named Annabell Lee, from the Edgar Allen Poe poem", then proceeds to bash Twilight and specifically Stepahnie Myer for her horrible writing, lol.

Poor guy, seriously; half the time he then gets asked who Edgar Allen Poe is, and if he writes about either vampires or romance.

I have zero interest in naming a dog Bella, but I DID like it as a human child name (goes well with my SO's Italian surname, given that it means "Beautiful" in Italian)...and then Twilight came out and axed that whole idea.

I've never really been a big fan of people names for dogs, overall, but then we went and named ours Willie after Willie Nelson.

Love the stories!! Especially the Edgar Allen Poe. Too funny.

Just so everyone knows......I didn't name her Bella because of Twilight.
