Default did puppy gain too much in 1 week?

My daughter took the new puppy(Aussie) to vet for shots today and he gained 2/12 lbs. in a week- is that too much- she said the vet said he's gonna be big but if it's anything like babies they outgrow it when they get older-what do you think?

Puppies can grow very very quickly. You didn't state the age of your dog, but they have growth spurts, especially in the early months. Did you weigh the dog on the same scale? Did the vet indicate concern?

Bella, my yellow lab, is now 4 months old. She is gaining any where from 1 1/2 pds to 2 pds a week. At 12 weeks she was 9 pds, at 16 weeks she was 18, 17 weeks she hit 19.5. I knew she was going to be a big girl but it still is amazing how fast she gains. We expect her to be over 85 pounds. Her Daddy was a big boy @ 120.

They grow fast. 2 1/2 pounds is good nothing to worry about.
