Thanks for the smile you put on my face this morning! I can't help but think how excited and anxious I would be to get our new baby home too! Congratulations! I love her soft brown tones in her coat.
Well I made it back to Texas. DH couldn't go so I've just traveled by myself to PA & back in 4 1/2 days. I never EVER will try doing that much driving in one stint again. That said..... the results were worth it. Our little Cassy is adorable. She is a sweetie and wants nothing more than to lean against you and be loved and petted. The poor baby must of had it rough and I think she was out on the streets for a while. She is still around 10 lbs underweight and startles at everything from the garbage truck to the TV. Unfortunately, right now she also has NO manners. We are working on reinforcing housebreaking and on basic commands. She is very smart and is already "asking" to go out and understands the command "sit" (well 3 out of 4 times) We are heading out for a walk in a bit so she can get the smells of the neighborhood. Tonight is a big night for her since she will be meeting her packmates for the 1st time. (We decided it was best to kennel them for a night to let her settle a little bit first) Here are a couple more pics of our new girl....home as last!
Here's hoping for lots of friendly butt-sniffing and happy tail wagging to come!
She's beautiful - and I can say that looking into the expression on her face, not just her colors! You are truly a unique soul for giving her your home and your heart.
I've been thinking about you! You went by yourself???? Brave soul!
I love the pics....She just makes me smile!
Not brave but I will plead temporary insanity Of course DH was a big help when I called him from the road to whine a little bit about how much more difficult it was than I thought it would be. So helpful, my DH, in saying "Well I thought you were nuts to go by yourself"

LOL - believe me I would have enjoyed both the company and another driver! Where are ya in Tx?
Seabrook Island...half way between Galveston and Houston.
