Default Update on Rocky the puppymill dog

Well it has been a year since Rocky came to live with us. He was a 5 yo puppymill yorkie and afraid of humans. He wouldn't get near me even to eat.

Finally after a year he is no longer hiding all day and running away from me every time I walk near him. He actually will come up to me now.

I have to admit for a while I figured he would never come around and would always be afraid of ppl. He still isn't totally housebroken and wears a belly band but we are working on that now.

Just figured for those of you who get frustrated or think they won't ever come around.. it can happen.

Great news! And due to careful training/handling, no doubt. Yaaay for both of you.

Good on ya for being patient with the little guy. It takes time to recover from a bad start, sounds like he's well on his way with you.

I had a rescue also who took a long time coming around, but when they do, it is soooooo rewarding. Thanks for hanging in there and having the patience about the housebreaking, many people would not have. You are a very special person and Rocky says thanks bunches!!!!

Congrats to you and especially congrats to Rocky! Our Bandit was a puppymill breeder dog. It took years for him to loose the "haunted look" and all of the phobias that were caused by living through that horror. What a brave little boy you have.
