Dog's Breath Has Metallic Odor (allergic, boxer, clean, vet)

My year-old pup occasionally has a metallic smell to her breath. Most of the time she has no odor at all and, when I think about it, I seem to notice the metallic smell when she is or has been sleeping. We have a vet appointment in a couple of weeks for vaccinations; but, I'm wondering if I should take her in sooner. Has anyone heard of or experienced this? Or, am I worrying about nothing? I really hope that I'm worrying about nothing.

Some info - she's a mutt (1/2 GSD, 1/2 Boxer), she hasn't been in the trash or eaten anything she shouldn't, her teeth and gums are clean and healthy, her appetite and health have always been excellent, her stools are normal, my two other dogs eat the same foods and do not have metal breath.

Run it past your vet. Sometimes details that seem tiny to us point out a real problem.
For instance, one of my dogs was really licking his front paws a lot, which he didn't usually do, but dogs do lick their paws, right? When my vet was trying to figure out a problem with the dog, that detail made very clear what kind of allergic reaction Kona was having.
If teeth and mouth are clean and without infection, it can be a digestive thing. Don't know if it's a medical issue, but your vet will know.
